Texas State update

Hi,
Our chapter has been very busy planning, recruiting, and having some fun. Our new t-shirts are "flying off the shelves." I have started to use a new tool this year. It is actually provided by the university for use by teachers and organizations to communicate with students about classwork, etc. It's called TRACS. I use it for EVERYTHING. It has a blog, a chat room, a calendar, announcements, resources (I post agendas and documents here). So far it's working great. Our first meeting is Sept 5th.

I, too wondered how everyone else is getting all of the new members to sign up online. I wanted to take their $$ and use a credit card, but that seems like it could get tricky. Has anyone come up with something that works well?

Membership Dues

How does everyone handle student dues? At CLC they told us to join online, right? I need to know before we start school.

We can collect dues for our local chapter- but they don't want us to sit on the National dues. So should we make students write us a check, then pay with credit cards for National?
How does everyone else handle this?????????

Fall Strategic Plans

Hey everyone! Our officers met Wednesday and finalized our Strategic Plan for Fall. We came up with some great ideas. Everyone was receptive to joining forces with Christine's chapter in a community service project. Is anone else DFW area interested to joining up for Habitat for Humanity???
We are developing our calendar quickly before school starts. How is everyone else doing?
